I knew a man with braces,
his name was farmer John,
there rarely was a time he'd not have his braces on.
He loved to watch the rugby,
with his Welsh scarf and his cap.
And was partial to a cup of tea
and a cheeky mid day nap.
He would always have a story,
of his days from way back when,
Of playing rugby for the Pooler,
Or causing mischief with Johny and Len.
He loved to stop and have a chat
and was well known throughout the town, for his rugby and young farmer days, his propping was renound.
He was loved by all his family,
whom he loved to spoil.
You'd often find him shopping,
Home Bargains his port of call.
He would load his car with popcorn,
cuddly toys for all the kiddies,
there'd be a rattle of maltesers,
calenders and tins of biccies.
His favourite was a Christmas dinner
and he'd pile his plate up high,
with buttered sprouts and mashed up Swede but still have room for apple pie.
He'd like a trip down to the Arms Park,
to watch the boys in red.
To sing along to Hymns and Arias,
then the pub...no Starbucks instead!!
Sadly he left us far too early,
He had to go away.
We are not ready to say goodbye
and want him here for another day.
Now there will never be a moment we won't think of Farmer John.
He'll be watching down on all of us,
with his tractor braces on. 😘
